{"id":637,"date":"2010-09-30T13:37:09","date_gmt":"2010-09-30T13:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web02.carmelss.edu.hk\/buddingwriters2\/archives\/637"},"modified":"2015-05-24T06:51:58","modified_gmt":"2015-05-24T06:51:58","slug":"nick-vujicic-life-without-limbs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.carmelss.edu.hk\/buddingwriters\/archives\/637","title":{"rendered":"Nick Vujicic \u2013 Life Without Limbs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Born with no arms and no legs, Nick has got a normal life just like ours.&nbsp; This Australian is really an inspiring person.&nbsp; He said, &ldquo;I love life, I just love life.&rdquo;&nbsp; The way he treats his life and the way he overcomes his challenges really made a change in my attitude towards life and myself.<br \/>&nbsp;Nick Vujicic, a 25-year-old young man who was born without limbs, is now using his life as a message to change and inspire millions of people all around the world.&nbsp; I got to know him one year ago by watching a DVD about him, &lsquo;No arms, no legs, no worries&rsquo;.&nbsp; At first, I really felt sorry for him.&nbsp; I thought what an unfortunate life he has!&nbsp; Through the DVD, I learnt about him more and change my perspective on him.&nbsp; He is a wonderful man!&nbsp; Although he is &lsquo;disabled&rsquo;, he lives a very positive life.&nbsp; He can walk, swim, dive, ride horses, play football and play golf by his head and mouth.&nbsp; He can write, and most important is that he encourages and brings hopes to people.&nbsp; I suppose he should be the one who needs encouragement and love.&nbsp; However, he has a happy and meaningful life and has tried many things that we have not ever tried before.&nbsp; Nick is a person who likes smiling all the time.&nbsp; He is tough and strong.&nbsp; He never gives up.&nbsp; Nick said, &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t believe I&rsquo;m disabled, because if you give up, your mind is your disability.&rdquo;<br \/>&nbsp;Being a real estate investor and stock market investor, Nick has actually done a double degree in accounting in financial planning.&nbsp; He said, &ldquo;My passion is to encourage and to inspire people to be all that they can be.&rdquo;&nbsp; I think he has successfully achieved his goal.&nbsp; He spoke to children, youth and adults in the DVD and shared messages with them.&nbsp; I watched the message he shared with youth and I was changed by him.&nbsp; Nick is a humorous young man.&nbsp; He asked us to never give up, to be thankful and never care about what others think about us.<br \/>&nbsp;Before, I really cared about what others thought about me, and I felt unhappy if people made negative comments on me.&nbsp; However, Nick told us not to care about what other people think we are, and he even said, &ldquo; I don&rsquo;t care how you look and what you are good at or not good at.&nbsp; I love you just as the way you are.&rdquo;&nbsp; His words touched me.&nbsp; Love should be unconditional and what is so important about our looks and other people&rsquo;s opinions?<br \/>&nbsp;Also, I used to be a girl who liked complaining and thought that I was not tall enough, or my eyes were not big enough.&nbsp; However, Nick asks us to be thankful all the time.&nbsp; He even thanks God for having his &lsquo;chicken drumstick&rsquo; (a small part of his &lsquo;leg&rsquo;).&nbsp; I really felt ashamed and at the same time inspired by him.&nbsp; I then decided to be more thankful.<br \/>&nbsp;Lastly, I learn to never give up.&nbsp; Nick overcomes all his challenges in his life.&nbsp; He has great achievements and an inspiring life.&nbsp; If nothing is holding him back, what is holding me back?&nbsp; Therefore, I will never give up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Born with no arms and no legs, Nick has got a normal life just like ours.
