{"id":629,"date":"2010-09-30T13:30:38","date_gmt":"2010-09-30T13:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web02.carmelss.edu.hk\/buddingwriters2\/archives\/629"},"modified":"2015-05-24T06:52:01","modified_gmt":"2015-05-24T06:52:01","slug":"hard-work-does-pay-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.carmelss.edu.hk\/buddingwriters\/archives\/629","title":{"rendered":"Hard work does pay off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was a precious chance to spend a whole day with my idol, Joey Yung.&nbsp; I was excited and thrilled to meet her.&nbsp; While waiting for Joey in the music studio, there were butterflies in my stomach.&nbsp; Eventually, I saw her.&nbsp; I got a glimpse of her and I whispered to myself, &lsquo;It&rsquo;s a dream come true.&rsquo;<br \/>&nbsp;Joey started the day recording a new song of hers.&nbsp; There were many helpers, directors and technicians putting their heads together in the studio.&nbsp; I originally thought that recording a four minute song wouldn&rsquo;t take too long, but what surprised me was that it took several hours to record it.&nbsp; During the recording, Joey always needed to pause and repeat.&nbsp; Even a very minor mistake was not allowed.&nbsp; I stared at Joey.&nbsp; She was still smiling and tried her best to perform at her best.&nbsp; I waited and waited, and consequently, after eight hours, the recording was finished.&nbsp; I saw Joey giggling.&nbsp; She said, &lsquo;Hurrah!&nbsp; It&rsquo;s really a nice song.&rsquo;<br \/>&nbsp;After having our late lunch in just half an hour, we had to head to another studio for a rehearsal of Joey&rsquo;s concert.&nbsp; In no time, Joey was already learning to dance and sing in the studio.&nbsp; I was amazed that she hadn&rsquo;t wilted after the morning recording.&nbsp; She even picked up the dancing steps quickly.&nbsp; When I watched her practising with the dancers, I was charmed by her movement.&nbsp; Meanwhile, the choreographer was forcing Joey to repeat the dance again and again so that it was error-free.&nbsp; The rehearsal was demanding.&nbsp; There were just a few breaks for Joey to have a rest and recharge her batteries.&nbsp; Abruptly, Joey screeched &lsquo;Oh!&rsquo;&nbsp; All dancers and helpers rushed to have a look.&nbsp; I peered through the crowd and saw Joey fallen on the floor with pain written all over her face.&nbsp; She fell when dancing and twisted her ankle.&nbsp; I heard the buzzing sound in the crowd.&nbsp; Everyone was agitated while I was heart-broken.&nbsp; I slowly walked towards her and said, &lsquo;Are you okay?&nbsp; Do you need some water?&rsquo;&nbsp; Then I sat beside her and began our conversation.&nbsp; Joey talked about what she felt.&nbsp; She said, &lsquo;As the saying goes, &ldquo;Let bygones be bygones&rdquo;, and I won&rsquo;t give up.&rsquo;&nbsp; I was touched by what she said.&nbsp; Finally, the day was cut short, with Joey being sent to hospital and we became friends from that time onwards.<br \/>&nbsp;After spending a day with Joey, I realized that she is not a person in a different league but just a person with a passion.&nbsp; Although facing many criticisms and obstacles, she never gives up and even learns from the past mistakes.&nbsp; She is always my idol and now I know she really sacrifices a lot to achieve her success.&nbsp; Joey really deserves the adoration of people around the world for her hard work.&nbsp; Joey always gives a hundred per cent and boldly surmounts all obstacles.&nbsp; I should also embrace such an attitude and be as successful as Joey is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It was a precious chance to spend a whole day with my idol, Joey Yung.
