Is the tiger parent approach a good way or a bad way to bring up children?

There are advantages of being brought up by tiger parents. As children normally do not have much self-control, the tiger parent approach gives children an opportunity to train their own discipline. Children are not mature enough, so they need their parents to make decisions for them.

Also, tiger parenting usually leads their child to success. For example, Amy Chua used the tiger parent approach to bring up her daughter, Lulu, and Lulu succeeded in playing the difficult piano piece. For Kim Wong Keltner, she also got good grades when she was brought up by “tiger parents”.

However, there are also disadvantages of the tiger parent approach. For example, tiger babies have to detach from their emotions and ignore their physical pain. They aren’t able to bond with others because of this.

Another disadvantage is that the tiger parent approach stifles true creativity and individuality of children. As I mentioned earlier, children don’t have enough self -discipline and they need their parents to make decisions for them. Parents should only decide on a certain amount of things and not do everything for their children; otherwise they will become robots.

Going through the advantages and disadvantages of the tiger parent approach, I believe that tiger parenting could be a good way to bring up children. However, it can also be a horrible experience for the them. I personally think that parents should not use the tiger parent approach as children’s creativity and individuality are more important than their achievements. In fact, it is essential that parents choose the way that they are comfortable with to bring up their children.

The pros and cons of the tiger parent approacMany Asian parents like to adopt the tiger parent approach of bringing up children.
