Only a few respondents from both sides usually went to bed before 11p.m.. There was a great difference between the two groups of respondents regarding going to bed between and midnight. More than one-third of girls went to bed between 11p.m. and midnight while only a quarter of boys did so. Compared with girls, fifteen percent more boys usually went to bed after midnight and nine percent more boys usually went to bed after 1 a.m.. It was found that the boys usually went to sleep later than the girls.

When asked about what they usually did immediately before they went to bed, most of the respondents played with smartphones. Moreover, there was an obvious different between the two groups of interviewees regarding playing online games before going to bed. Compared with girls, thirty-nine percent more boys usually played online games before they slept. It was also found that neither groups watched TV before bedtime.

Conclusion and Recommendations

Based on the result of the survey, it could be deduced that most of the students, including both boys and girls, do not have sufficient and good-quality sleep. The respondents from both sides stayed up late. Most of the girls usually went to bed between 11p.m. and midnight, while most of the boys even stayed up after midnight. Besides, girls usually played with smartphones while boys often played online games before bedtime. Most importantly, the figure indicated that the inadequate sleep would affect their activities or study in day time. It is recommended that students should have better time management. They should put more effort into setting up their efficient timetable for themselves to leave more time for sleeping. In addition, students should reduce their time playing with smartphones or online games. It is hoped that students could try their best to go to bed earlier so that their activities or study in day time would not be affected by inadequate sleep.

5A Chan LarissA report on sleeping quality and quantity of the students of Excellent CollegIntroductioThe Health Club wanted to look into the sleeping habits of students and to see how their sleeping habits affect their activities in daytime. In order to investigate this issue, two hundred and e.........Read More
[1

post-5176","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized","language-en","classlevel-s5","schoolyear-38
["GET
