A magic book<\/p>\n
John went to Dubai with his family during his summer vacation. One day, when they were wandering along the street, John discovered a mysterious shop located in an alley. As he was very curious about the unique location of this shop, he strayed away from his parents and sneaked into the shop.<\/p>\n
\u201cCreak\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
The door was pushed open quietly.<\/p>\n
\u201cIs there anyone?\u201d John crept into the shop and asked. However, no one responded to him. The wind bell rang because of the howling wind. This made John shiver with fear.<\/p>\n
\u201cWelcome to my shop, and you can find various kinds of goods here!\u201d a female shop assistant came out from the depot.<\/p>\n
John glanced around and he gave all his attention to a book that was placed in a transparent box.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is this? Why do you place it in such a way?\u201d John pointed at the box to show the assistant what he was talking about.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, this is a magic book. When you open the book and think of your dreams in your mind, they will all come true in a second,\u201d the assistant replied boastfully.<\/p>\n
\u201cAre you lying?\u201d John frowned. He could not believe it at all.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, I\u2019m not! If you are interested in it, I can sell it to you with a cheaper price!\u201d the assistant continued.<\/p>\n
John scratched his head thoughtfully. \u201cMaybe I can use it to help me finish my homework!\u201d he laughed at the thought and he finally spent one hundred dollars buying the book. The truth was revealed after they came back to Hong Kong\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cHey, John, how come you\u2019re still playing with your PSP?\u201d John\u2019s mum glared curiously at John as she knew that he had not finished any homework during their trip to Dubai.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo worries!\u201d John replied confidently. \u201cI am sure that the teacher will not scold me when I go back to school.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOkay\u2026\u201dAlthough John\u2019s mum was quite puzzled, she believed that John would not lie to her.<\/p>\n
Time flew and John\u2019s summer vacation came to an end. When he entered the classroom, he saw lots of his classmates doing their unfinished homework. He was very happy as he thought that he just needed to rely on the magic book.<\/p>\n
\u201cJohn, come on.\u00a0 Finish your work quick.\u00a0 Are you waiting for the punishment from Miss Wong?\u201d Alex asked while rushing through his summer assignments.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have already finished all my homework,\u201d John replied and gave Alex a secretive smile.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really unbelievable!\u201d Alex doubted.<\/p>\n
Soon the bell rang. \u201cAnyone hasn\u2019t finished the holiday homework that I assigned you?\u201d Miss Wong asked, pacing down the aisle. \u201cIf no, then pass out all your homework.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s time for me to use the magic book,\u201d John immediately took out the book from his drawer and opened it with expectation.<\/p>\n
After he opened the book, he followed the instructions that the assistant told him and waited patiently for his wish to come true. A few minutes later, when he checked all his homework, he could not find any answers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat happened?\u201d John was very confused and he tried to check the instruction page to see if there was any missing point. However, what he could only find was a price tag which was written \u201cTwo dollars\u201d. John screamed hysterically.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat happened to you, John? If you haven\u2019t finished your homework, stay behind after school and do it!\u201d Miss Wong said angrily.<\/p>\n
