A Day as a Coffee Shop Assistant<\/p>\n

Never have I experienced working as a full-time employee.\u00a0 It is actually not legal for a 14-year-old teenager to work for a day, receiving salary in Hong Kong.\u00a0 Nevertheless, the LWW Porgramme organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department provided me with a valuable opportunity to work in a caf\u00e9 as a coffee shop assistant for a day.\u00a0 Guess what?\u00a0 I could even get paid.<\/p>\n

The event took place last Sunday in a small vintage coffee shop located in Tsim Sha Tsui.\u00a0 I could not be anymore excited for I expected it to be an interesting and leisurely day.\u00a0 Things do not always go how I want them to.\u00a0 I was welcomed with tons of workload after I had just introduced myself to the owner of the caf\u00e9.\u00a0 For the next several hours, I was serving, cleaning and sometimes grumbling.\u00a0 I just could not handle such an amount of work.\u00a0 Still, I did my best to fulfill the customers\u2019 and my boss\u2019 wants.<\/p>\n

There were three teenagers working in the caf\u00e9.\u00a0 They seemed to have been spoiled by their parents; they could not even wash a plate well!\u00a0 I was sure countless of cups and plates had been broken by them at the end of the day.\u00a0 No exaggeration!\u00a0 They were bad-tempered as well.\u00a0 A few customers had complained about their impoliteness.\u00a0 Compared with them, I thought I was the one who did the best.\u00a0\u00a0 At least, I was not that prickly or disrespectful.<\/p>\n
