One night, I was awakened by the sound of distant thunder. As I opened my eyes, I saw a white ghost floating around my bedroom. It was crying poorly. At first, I thought I was dreaming. I bit my finger as hard as I could to check if this hurt. I hoped it wasn’t painful because I never wanted it to be true. Unfortunately, it hurt. All I saw was true.
I was so frightened and covered myself tightly with a quilt. After a few minutes, there was no sound anymore. I pulled my head out of the quilt. The white ghost had disappeared…
The next morning, I told my brother about what I had seen in the night.
“Don’t be silly, brother,” he replied. “There aren’t any ghosts in the world.”
Then, I went and told my parents about what I saw. “Wow,” they said, “our little boy’s made up a ghost story this time. What a creative idea!”
I was so frustrated because no one believed me. They thought I was making up a story again. I knew that in their hearts, I was a liar. However, I was going to prove that I was not a liar.
During that week, I stayed up every night for the white ghost. I took my Nikon camera with me so I would be able to take a photo of the white ghost to prove that I didn’t tell lies. I was really scared, but I knew that I could overcome it.
On Thursday night, I heard the sound of distant thunder again and I knew that the white ghost was coming. I turned on my camera and was ready for a great shot of the white ghost. The door of my bedroom had been slightly opened. My heart beat faster and faster. Suddenly, the white ghost appeared! I quickly pressed the button of my camera and took a picture of the ghost. Flash!
“OUCH! Haven’t I told you that I hate flash?” cried the ghost. What? Ghosts were scared of flash? So ridiculous! I strode nearer and nearer to the ghost and uncovered its white cloth. It was my brother Bryant!
I was so confused. How come my brother became a ghost? Then Bryant explained, “I know that you didn’t sleep very well these nights because of proving that you didn’t tell any lies. So I pretended to be a ghost and helped you to prove that all you said is true.”
I felt warm and touched after hearing Bryant’s explanation. But then, I found something strange. How about the distant thunder? How could Bryant make the sound?
As I was thinking of this problem, my door had been slowly opened. There appeared the ghost! Bryant and I screamed as loudly as we could. And I even forgot to take a picture!
After the ghost left our room, I heard Bryant whisper, “Oh, I should have believed you, my dear brother.” I grinned and gave him a big hug. I was no longer afraid of the ghost because I knew that whatever I met, my family would always be with me and support me. Then, a moment later, I heard my parents scream very loud. Bryant and I stared at each other and laughed. He said, “It seems that you don’t need to prove what you have said, my dearest brother.”<\/p>\n
