It’s not exaggerating to say that my mum is one of the strangest creatures in the world.  Can you imagine having a mum who is chic, childish and always goes bananas?  That’s the lady in my life.
 There’s an ‘open policy’ in my home.  We discuss different kinds of issues freely, for example, my academic results, her childhood and dating.  She has never forbidden me to date but I’ve never intended to do so.  Perhaps there’s a generation gap between us.  However, it’s me thinking like a senior citizen!  My friend Jo thinks my mum sounds like a child on the phone.  Every time my lovely mum answers her phone call, she pretends to be a child.  Jo loves hearing it!  Gosh!
 My mum is quite fit and she likes to show off.  There’s a fence along our house.  It’s quite inconvenient to walk along the long fence to get to the gate.  Once, she suggested climbing over the fence.  Well, I believe that was intended and premeditated.  She fancied doing it all the time.  However, there was no point in climbing over a fence which reaches my shoulders.  I tried several times, and with her help, before I could do it but she finished doing the whole action within one second.  ‘Oh, you really need to do more exercise!’ She said.  Gosh!
 The Parents’ Day is a real pain in the neck.  I have never forgotten the Parents’  Day in S2.  I had some duties in the school that day.  Therefore, I promised to pick her up in the afternoon.  Nevertheless, there was no one at home when I was back and she did not answer the phone.  Time was running out.  After I dashed to school, puffing and panting, she was sitting outside my classroom.
 ‘You did not answer my phone,’ she told me.  It should be me to ask her this question.
 ‘Mum, I’m not allowed to bring any mobile phone to school,’ I replied.  ‘Wait a minute, how can you know which class I am in?’
 You know, I did not mean to hide which class I was in but I completely understood that she wouldn’t remember.  It was not because she did not care but simply because she couldn’t remember.
 ‘I just asked your schoolmates if they knew which class Li Ka Po was in.’  Gosh!  I wish I had told her which class I was in every day!
 Unfortunately, this was not the end of the story.
 When we were talking to my class teachers, her mobile phone rang.  The ring tone was like James Bond’s.  I hoped to find a cave to hide myself in but I failed to do so.
 I can never forget having such an unforgettable Parents’ Day in my life.  Don’t worry, I’ve already got used to facing this sort of situations.
 Still, I can learn a lot from her.  Of course I’m not talking about being a daredevil like her.  She skipped her class, bringing her young sister (my aunt) and a boy, and walked kilometres away to a river to catch fish.  She had skipped class and had played this trick for a month.  Finally, it was discovered by my grandpa and this naughty child was hung on the door and underwent a soundly beating.  At that time, she was a kindergarten pupil.  She’s still energetic, naughty and childish now.  She has climbed over and over many fences and hurdles in life.  Her toughness and cheerful attitude towards life is my model.  That’s the lady who makes my day!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It’s not exaggerating to say that my mum is one of the strangest creatures in the world.
