I heard a faint noise from the kitchen. Someone was calling my name, “Lesley! Lesley! Come here!”
Was I hallucinating? Silently, I tip-toed to the kitchen. As I peered into the sink, I nearly fainted. My mum had shrunk and was no bigger than my hand! I was horrified and started slapping myself really hard to make sure that I was not dreaming. My little mum told me in a reedy voice, “God said that this is a test to see if you are mature and calm enough to exchange role with me. I will grow back to normal size only if you pass the test.”
I started to cook my own lunch, but I had difficulties in cooking mum’s. I used a knife to chop the food into tiny pieces so that it could fit into Mum’s mouth, and I nearly wounded my finger! Afterwards, I gave Mum two needles to use as chopsticks.
When “bath-time” came, I took out my Barbie doll’s bath tub and filled it with some water. To avoid embarrassment, I decided to help Mum get some soap and shampoo so that she could bathe on her own. However, I made a mistake! Just one tiny drop of soap had already made the water too soapy! Therefore, I just gave her a piece of alcohol tissue paper to wipe herself instead. After all the hard work, it was already time that my brother and father would come home. I was worried, thinking how to explain this incident to them.
Suddenly, I heard a voice, “Lesley! You have passed the test!” I was overjoyed to see Mum turn back to normal.
After this weird experience, I finally knew that being a housewife is a tiring job. Therefore, I will take up some duties for Mum in the future to ease her workload. <\/p>\n
