Carmel Secondary School held its 49<\/span>th<\/sup>\u00a0annual Sports Day on 18<\/span>th<\/sup>\u00a0November and 20<\/span>th<\/sup>\u00a0November. The warm, sunny and brisk morning was filled with joy and happiness at the Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground. All students and teachers enjoyed it very much.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the opening ceremony, Mr. Lour, the former principal of Carmel Divine Grace Foundation Secondary School<\/span>,<\/span> gave a speech. Mr. Lour encouraged all people <\/span>to<\/span> do exercise every day and they should not make any excuse. <\/span>Mr Lour stressed that d<\/span>oing exercise can stay people in a healthy condition. He told them to be more active in doing exercise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among all the events, the most exciting event was the \u2018Teachers\u2019 4×100 relay\u2019. Teacher contestants enjoyed running on the tracks very much. Teachers from different houses tried their best to get the champion for their houses. Eventually, the representatives of Trust house won and Loyalty house got the first-runner-up. Although Intellect and Virtue house lost, they still tried their best. It showed that they had sportsmanship.<\/span><\/p>\n

The result of <\/span>the <\/span>whole Sports Day was updated<\/span> in the Final<\/span>. Virtue house came the first. Loyalty house came the second. Although Intellect house lost in the Sports Day, they were <\/span>not disappointed. They were <\/span>very <\/span>satisfied with their performance and t<\/span>hey learnt that sportsmanship was more important than winning in the competitions. Besides, Wong Pui Ling from Loyalty house broke the school record in the girls\u2019 grade A 200m sprint. She ran as fast as a rocket. Her time was 28\u201d27 seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n

The guest of honor, Mr. Hui, the former school supervisor was invited to join the Sports Day. Although he was disabled, he still join<\/span>ed<\/span> the brisk walk with some school teams. The scene was very touching. He also presented the prizes to the winners. He gave a speech to Carmelians too. He told them to chase their dream and encouraged them not to give up. He could not speak fluently, but everyone listened to him patiently and quietly. They were really good students. They could be patient.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 49th<\/sup> annual Sports Days were held under a perfect weather. This was really a good chance for students to keep good contact with one another<\/span> and s<\/span>tudents could know more about their friends over the two days.
