Coming into Carmel was a changing point in my life. Why? Read on.<\/span><\/p>\n

My life had been messy and goal-less before I came to Carmel. I had no goals, no dreams, not even a wish when I blew out the candle of my birthday cake. Every day was meaningless and plain. Whenever I c<\/span>a<\/span>me across setbacks, I would just cry for a night and in the next morning, I would forget everything and start a new day. I never seemed to learn from my mistakes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Until once, I had a really painful experience that I thought <\/span>it <\/span>would ruin my life. In the last exam in Primary Five, which the school would submit our results for the first time to the Education Bureau, I failed Mathematics. I couldn’t believe my eyes at that moment. I was completely petrified. I prayed and prayed that it wasn’t my paper, but it was.<\/span><\/p>\n

When I went home that night, I showed my result to my parents. To my surprise, they did not scold me. They did not say anything. At that same night, I lay on my bed, cursing God. I was furious. Why did<\/span>n\u2019t<\/span> He fail others? Why me? But actually, when I look back now, I thank Him.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I thank God because when He failed me, at the same time, He taught me a lesson, and what I learnt could be use<\/span>ful<\/span> throughout my life. I have to learn from my mistakes in order to succeed. Without setbacks, we will never learn to treasure our chances.
