{"id":143,"date":"2009-03-02T09:55:33","date_gmt":"2009-03-02T09:55:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web02.carmelss.edu.hk\/buddingwriters2\/archives\/143"},"modified":"2015-05-24T06:48:47","modified_gmt":"2015-05-24T06:48:47","slug":"what-does-my-name-mean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.carmelss.edu.hk\/buddingwriters\/archives\/143","title":{"rendered":"What does my name mean?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My name is Chan Luk Yee.&nbsp; But what does my name mean?<br \/>&nbsp;First, &lsquo;Chan&rsquo; is my father&rsquo;s surname.&nbsp; It is a family name.&nbsp; &lsquo;Luk&rsquo; sounds mostly like &lsquo;Lok&rsquo; but I don&rsquo;t know why my name is spelt &lsquo;Luk&rsquo;.&nbsp; Maybe this makes my name special!&nbsp; Then, &lsquo;Yee&rsquo; means comfortable, happy and free.&nbsp; &lsquo;Luk&rsquo; plus &lsquo;Yee&rsquo; mean a river in a forest.&nbsp; But when we say these words in Chinese, they have the same sound as &lsquo;a happy child&rsquo;.&nbsp; Wouldn&rsquo;t it sound strange when I get older?<br \/>&nbsp;Lastly, &lsquo;Phoebe&rsquo; comes from my birthplace &ndash; Fiji.&nbsp; Don&rsquo;t they sound alike?&nbsp; &lsquo;Phoebe&rsquo; means a shiny thing and an illustrious person.&nbsp; Wow, wonderful!&nbsp; Also, it means the God of the Moon from Greece.<br \/>&nbsp;My mum may want me to be a happy person so every character in my name means &lsquo;happy&rsquo;.&nbsp; Now, I am a cheerful person.&nbsp; Do you think so?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"My name is Chan Luk Yee.
