Audition \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dear Chris,<\/span><\/p>\n

How are you? Do you enjoy your life in Canada?\u00a0 Last week, I felt very disappointed and depressed due to the rejection in an audition.\u00a0 As you know, being an actress is my dream.\u00a0 Being rejected not only brought along sadness to me, but also made me lose confidence in being an actress.\u00a0 I\u2019d like to share this experience with you, hope you could understand my feelings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last week, the school drama club sent me an invitation, which asked me to join an audition for a major role in Romeo and Juliet.\u00a0 I think you could imagine how exciting I was.\u00a0 I was keen on acting and it was a good chance for me to fulfill my dream on being an actress.\u00a0\u00a0 I went to the audition with joy and excitement.\u00a0 But they were replaced by nervousness after I entered the auditorium.\u00a0 There were nearly a hundred of students waiting for the audition, which suggested a keen competition for the major role.<\/p>\n

After all the students were settled, the teacher in charge of the drama club, who was also the judge of the audition, stepped out.\u00a0 He held a tennis racket and asked each of us to prepare for a one-minute performance with the racket.\u00a0 \u201cWhat am I supposed to do with a racket?\u201d\u00a0 I thought.\u00a0 When it was my turn to perform, I stepped up to the stage under great pressure and nervousness.\u00a0 I could think of nothing to act with a racket!\u00a0 What I could do was just grabbing the tennis racket like holding a guitar and sang.\u00a0 I tried to act like as a singer who was playing the guitar.\u00a0 My performance made me look like a fool, who attracted laughers from the audience.\u00a0 I felt embarrassed after my act.\u00a0 What\u2019s more, I saw the judge shaking his head and put a cross on my application form.\u00a0 This disappointed me a lot because I didn\u2019t think he admired my performance.<\/p>\n

After the one-minute performance, the audition continued.\u00a0 The teacher distributed a script to each of us and asked us to play the role of Juliet.\u00a0 I truly believed I could gain a high score in this part as I thought I myself was good at showing the character\u2019s emotion and feelings.\u00a0 I read through the lines on the scripts and found that Juliet was angry at that part of the story.\u00a0 On the stage, I put all my anger on the face and shouted out the lines.\u00a0 While I finished my performance with great confidence, the judge gave his comment.\u00a0 He said I had caught the wrong emotion of the character, which made my performance strange.\u00a0 At the instant,\u00a0 I was shocked by him.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t believe that the \u201cstrength\u201d which I thought I have got, actually did not exist.<\/p>\n

I left the audition with disappointment and sorrow.\u00a0 After two days, the result of the audition was announced, I didn\u2019t get a role in the drama.<\/p>\n

After this audition, I started questioning myself about\u00a0 whether I am suitable for being an actress.\u00a0 Could you give me some advice?\u00a0 I hope you could share my feelings.<\/p>\n
