A Diary Entry on the First Drama Rehearsal \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
God, if this is your will, please grant me strength and be with me in my fight against setbacks. \u00a0After today\u2019s rehearsal, I am now down in the dumps, let alone wishing to get any single award. \u00a0Sigh! \u00a0Romeo and Juliet is still my favourite play, the masterpiece of Shakespeare, but the awful sound effects, scripts, performance of the actors and lighting are literally putting my profession at stake (if this rehearsal is a real one on stage). \u00a0Geez!<\/span><\/p>\n What a disaster right from the beginning. \u00a0The rehearsal started with the monologue of Juliet \u2013 an old plot, but injected with the modern element of \u201cLove Story\u201d sung by Taylor Swift in the background. \u00a0What a \u2018smart\u2019 choice! \u00a0Juliet, with blonde, curly hair, and moist eyes, spoke in the British accent, and the popular melody crept in\u2026 Juliet couldn\u2019t even utter a word, and the whole crew \u2013 including me \u2013 just couldn\u2019t help laughing. \u00a0It was such a mismatch!
