By the way, mum received your birthday present and she was really delighted.\u00a0 Guess what I had prepared for her on her birthday?\u00a0 I bet you can\u2019t guess it.\u00a0 I arranged a special birthday event, which was filmed as part of a very popular TV show, for her!\u00a0 Have you heard of Surprise of Your Life?\u00a0 Exactly, it\u2019s that TV show!<\/p>\n
Before giving you the details of the fascinating birthday event, let me ask you one question \u2013 can you remember what I promised to mum when I was five?\u00a0 You shouldn\u2019t forget it as you\u2019d laughed at me about it for so long.\u00a0 You know, our family was quite poor when we were children.\u00a0 We could only have a small piece of cake for celebrating our birthdays as usual.\u00a0 When I was five, I promised mum I\u2019ll take her to the Peninsula Hotel to have a dinner.<\/p>\n
Now, you should be guessing I brought mum there on her birthday.\u00a0 Yet, you\u2019re wrong!\u00a0 It\u2019s too ordinary.\u00a0 I did something even more stunning!\u00a0 Well, I elaborately prepared it for nearly two months!\u00a0 Arranged by the show, I learnt cooking in the Peninsula Hotel every day.\u00a0 I was taught by four globally renowned chefs.\u00a0 OK.\u00a0 I admit that I was really nervous during the lessons, but they were all very nice.\u00a0 Besides, I kept planning the birthday programme with the show\u2019s director.\u00a0 In fact, rather than the planning or cooking lessons, I found keeping it secret from mum was actually the most difficult part.\u00a0 Thanks to all the organizers of the show, they were really professional and helped me to arrange all the work sensibly.\u00a0 Although there were a few times that mum nearly pierced it, we covered it up tactfully.\u00a0 You\u2019ll know about it on the show. Really exciting.<\/p>\n
Finally the day came. I acted like I forgot mum\u2019s birthday.\u00a0 After she went to work, I rushed to prepare for the secret birthday party.\u00a0 When she returned from work and opened the door, she found our home in complete darkness.\u00a0 At the moment she switched on the light, she found herself in the Peninsula Hotel!\u00a0 Yes, our home was decorated as high-class and gorgeous as the restaurant in the Peninsula Hotel.\u00a0 There were a hundred of roses arranged in words of \u2018Mum, happy birthday!\u2019.\u00a0 On the table, there were lots of delicious food, including a big chocolate cake, beef tenderloin with goose liver, baked lobster with cheese and butter, poached chicken breast with ratatouille etc.\u00a0 All of them were cooked by ME!\u00a0 It\u2019s cool, right?\u00a0 Mum was stunned!\u00a0 At that moment, I hugged mum and told her \u201cI love you and thank you very much, mum\u201d.\u00a0 It was so touching that both of us cried.\u00a0 Mum went into raptures and kept saying \u201cThank you\u201d.\u00a0 When she realized that it was being shown on TV, she felt even happier.\u00a0 You know, being on TV show is her dream.\u00a0 That day\u2019ll surely be our most unforgettable experience in our lives.<\/p>\n
