Extraordinary Sports Days"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carmel Secondary School held its 47th annual sports day on October 10.\u00a0 On that sunny, cloudless morning, Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground was filled with Carmel spirit.<\/p>\n<p>On 10th October, Mr. Tang Chung Pui, the vice-principal, made the opening speech.\u00a0 He told us in his speech that female can make friends easily because they have a lot of common topics to cover.\u00a0 But for male, it is more difficult because they are usually not able to find too many topics to cover during conversation.\u00a0 Nevertheless, sports can always be a good topic among friends.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After the speech, the scouts performed the flag raising ceremony while the orchestra was playing the school song, and all teachers and students stood and sang it together.<\/p>\n<p>Then all events started, such as long jump, high jump, running, shoot put, discus and so forth.\u00a0 All the students cheered for their own House.\u00a0 Some used the inflatable cheering sticks and some waved their House flags and banners.\u00a0 The cheering team cheered wildly and danced for their athletes.\u00a0 Every time when some athletes won, the students burst into roars of cheers.<\/p>\n<p>Suddenly, it started to rain heavily.\u00a0 The Principal advised sincerely that all students that were weak should not enter the competition.\u00a0 He also led the students to pray and hoped the heavy rain would stop.\u00a0 But none of the athlete gave up.<\/p>\n<p>Games continued on the second day which started with the inter-house 12 x 200m relay.\u00a0 It was the most exciting event.\u00a0 There were forty-eight athletes in total.\u00a0 Virtue House was the champion and Loyalty House came second.<\/p>\n<p>After the inter-house 12 x 200m relay, it was the Parent-Child Brisk Walk\/ Jog.\u00a0 The students held their parents\u2019 hands and ran as fast as they could.\u00a0 All the cheering teams cheered for the parents and students.<\/p>\n<p>Wong Pui Ling of 3C broke the school record in the Girl\u2019s Grade B Long Jump.\u00a0 Her distance was 5.3 metres and she jumped really far.<\/p>\n<p>The Guest of honour, Mr. Man Tse Fong told one should remain humble even if he won.\u00a0 He told them not to be just on-lookers but to participate actively.\u00a0 He presented the trophies and the Award for the Best Cheer went to Virtue House, which won the most prizes and the overall championship.\u00a0 In fact, Virtue House has been crowned champion for the last six years.\u00a0 The cheering team from Virtue House sang happily and all the members of Virtue House cheered happily.<\/p>\n<p>The 47th Annual Sports Day ended perfectly and safely.\u00a0 It was a benchmark day, setting a wonderful
