World Tuberculosis Day Singing Competition: 2nd Runner-Up + $1,000 Prize

Congratulations to the Choir who sang their heart out in the Singing Competition organized by the Hong Kong Tuberculosis, Chest and Heart Diseases Association, in support of World Tuberculosis Day「3月24日世界防癆日」防癆歌唱比賽 ). The competition was held on March 19,2016 in the atrium of Wonderful Worlds of Whampoa. The choir claimed the 2^nd runner-up and $1000 award. Two small groups, each formed by three students, also won merit prizes and $200 awards.

The competition was a 2-part event. Last year the public participants rewrote lyrics from popular songs and promoted the importance of health. This year participants record their own singing using the new lyrics and compete against other teams/individuals by singing.

The Choir performed <健康快活人> (任我行);

Fok Hiu Lam, Lin Qianqi and Leung Yui Yan from S.3 performed <癆病離別你> (我本人);

Ko Sum, Kwok Yan Lok Christopher and Li Cheuk Ho from S.5 performed <告別肺癆病>(告別我的戀人們).

It was the tireless coaching and valuable advice from Music Panel, Mrs Chung Leung Yuk Kam, teaching assistant, Mr Leung King Heng and alumnus, Chu Ka Chun that made such an achievement possible.

超新聲歌唱大賽2015

was hosted by Sha Tin Arts Association Limited (沙田文藝協會有限公司主辦). The Choir and six handbell players climbed to top 3, among 20 more choral teams, in the semi-finals on November 15 and thus qualified to enter the finals at Shatin Town Hall on December 13. In the finals, two prizes were received:

1. Champion of Choral Group (大合唱組冠軍);

2. Most Popular Performance (最受歡迎歌手大獎)

Together with $2,000 cash award.

Congratulations to all choir members and the 6 handbell players for such extraordinary performance.

We would like to give thanks to the principal, Miss Ng, vice principal, Mrs Chan, extracurricular activity panel head, Mr Lau, teachers, Mrs Au, Miss Tam and over 80 students’ parents who had come to support our show. Moreover, we give thanks to Mr Tsang, Mr. Hung and (2C) Loo Hoi Ching for capturing lots of great moments on photo, IT support from Mr Choi, dress costume support from our janitor, 玲姐; coach support from Mr Leung and alumnus, Chu Ka Chun; singing, dress design and performing skills instructor, Mrs Chung.

Joint School Music Competition 2016: Gold Prize

Congratulations to our school’s Choir who gave a remarkable performance in the Joint School Music Competition 2016, organized by the Hong Kong Joint School Music Association. The Choir performed on March 22, 2016 in the Secondary School Choral (Senior) group and their musicality helped them win the Gold Prize.
